After half a month, Junzheng Group placed another large order, choosing Wuchang Shipbuilding to sign a contract for the construction of 10 chemical tankers. Together with the 10 ships previously ordered in Yangzhou Jinling, Junzheng Group has placed 20 orders in just two weeks, totaling more than 6.4 billion yuan, and continue to consolidate its domestic chemical ship "leading" position.

May 11, Inner Mongolia Junzheng Energy & Chemical Group Co., Ltd. announced that in order to further optimize the company's fleet structure, expand the fleet size, and actively build a high economic and competitive chemical transportation fleet, and constantly improve the company's competitiveness, the company's wholly-owned overseas subsidiary SC International FZE and JZ Logistics Holding ( Overseas) Co. On May 10, SC International FZE and JZ Logistics Holding (Overseas) Co., Ltd., wholly-owned overseas subsidiaries of the Company, respectively signed construction contracts for a total of five 25,900 DWT chemical tankers with Wuchang Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Group Co.

At the same time, SC International FZE signed a vessel construction option agreement with Wuchang Shipbuilding, reserving the option to place orders for no more than five vessels of the same type. Including the option order, the total price including tax of these 10 new vessels will not exceed RMB 3.2 billion (the amount is a preliminary estimate, and the final amount will be based on the actual construction amount), which is equivalent to the price of a single vessel of RMB 320 million (approximately USD 44 million).

Junzheng Group is an "old customer" of Wuchang Shipbuilding, which has built and delivered four 7,200 dwt stainless steel chemical tankers for Junzheng Shipbuilding between 2021 and 2023. In March last year, Junzheng Shipbuilding's joint venture subsidiary, Shanghai Junzheng Stewardship, signed a contract with Wuchang Shipbuilding for the construction of two 9,200 dwt stainless steel chemical tankers, and the construction of these two new vessels has already begun at the end of last year.

The latest order from Junzheng Group is also the second 25,900 DWT chemical tanker construction contract undertaken by Wuchang Shipbuilding this week. on May 9, Wuchang Shipbuilding also received an order for two 25,900 DWT methanol dual-fuel stainless steel chemical tankers from Xingtong. the new vessels are expected to be built in 2026, and are scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. The new vessels are expected to be delivered at the end of March and the end of June 2026 at a price of RMB 307.8 million each.

In recent years, Wuchang Shipbuilding conforms to the new trend of green, low-carbon and intelligent shipping development, fully grasps the market opportunity, ploughs deep into the oleochemical vessel market, focuses on technological innovation and process optimization, establishes a mature chemical vessel development and construction process system, and builds and delivers a series of small and medium-sized oleochemical vessels for domestic and foreign customers, and has gradually made oleochemical vessels one of the main ship types built by the company.

Excluding the latest order, Clarkson's data shows that in the field of chemical tanker construction of 10,000 dwt and above, Wuchang Shipbuilding has a total of 12 chemical tankers on hand order, ranking the fourth in the world, only after Yangzhou Jinling (33 tankers), Wuhu Shipyard (25 tankers) and Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding (12 tankers).

As of today, Wuchang Shipbuilding has a total of 33 vessels on hand, including 12 chemical tankers, 6 general cargo vessels, 5 offshore vessels, 4 container vessels, 3 Ro-Ro vessels and 1 other vessel, with delivery schedules up to 2027.
